How Lethal is Your Drug of Choice?
In case you didn’t know, alcohol is one of the most addictive and lethal inebriants known to man. How lethal is it? Well, alcohol is more lethal, even in recreational circumstances, than the following drugs:
Cocaine
MDMA ("extacy")
Rohyonol ("rufies")
Ketamine ("Special K or K")
LSD
marijuana
Substances MORE lethal than alcohol:
GHB
Nutmeg
Heroin
What does this mean? In practical terms, it means that a heavy drinker is more likely to die from their drug of choice than a cocaine addict. Sounds like the world is going topsy-turvy, doesn’t it? The GFP lifestyle supports the Epicurean notion of "everything in moderation", and alcohol should be HEAVILY moderated in times of revelry.
Andrew Sullivan of the Atlantic Online has this to say about it:
"The least toxic drug known to humans is now illegal. The most toxic is available at Safeway. None of this makes any sense at all. And yet we continue to imprison people for ingesting substances far less harmful than others freely available. One has to wonder what the prohibitionists are smoking. Maybe nutmeg."
