Jazzanova This Thursday @ LUMEN – RSVP Now!

Remember a few years back when on any given weekend in Chicago, you could hear the hottest overseas DJs at the city’s coolest nightspots? We do. Somehow, our city lost that, and we miss it. On Thursday, Lumen brings that long lost vibe back for a very special night with the Berlin’s DJ supergroup, Jazzanova to celebrate their 10 year anniversary.

The Jazzanova collective formed in 1997, after DJing with one another at a club called Delicious Doughnuts. Alexander Barck, Class Brieler, Roskow Kretschmann, Stefan Leisering, Axel Reinemer, and Jürgen von Knoblauch shared a common goal of blending their collected inspirations together to create a new, sophisticated sound, with debts owed to nearly every form of dance-oriented music from the past several decades. They’ve taken everything from disco, afro-beat, jazz-funk, house, samba, hip-hop, put it in a blender, and poured out beautiful classic modern electronic soul.

This is a rare treat you do not want to miss. They’re going to rock Lumen like its never been rocked before. For proof, listen to their radio show.
